Stuttgart beat RB Leipzig 3-1 at home in the German Cup semi-final.
The Swabians took the lead in the 5th minute of the match thanks to Angelo Stiller. The Bulls created several dangerous moments before the break, but they were unable to recover.
In the second half, Nick Woltemade doubled Stuttgart's lead. Leipzig quickly got one back, but 11 minutes later, Jamie Lewelling scored the third goal for the Schwabs and removed all doubts about the winner of the match.
It was RB Leipzig's first match after the sacking of head coach Marco Rose and the appointment of Zsolt Low.
In the final of the German Cup, Stuttgart will play against Arminia, a representative of the third-strongest division, which sensationally defeated Bayer (2:1) yesterday. The decisive match of the tournament will take place on May 24 in Berlin.
In their next match on April 5, Stuttgart will play away to Bochum, while Leipzig will host Hoffenheim in the 28th round of the Bundesliga.
