Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti, after the home defeat to Valencia (1:2) in the 30th round of La Liga, touched upon the goalkeeper issue, namely, he spoke about the health of Thibaut Courtois and Andrei Lunin .

“Courtois trained today and felt good, he will train tomorrow too. We didn't want to risk Lunin and he will have two or three more days to recover. Then we will see on Tuesday because I think we will have both options.”

Thibaut Courtois was absent from Real's last matches due to muscle strain – he was replaced in goal by Ukrainian Andriy Lunin. However, in the return match of the semi-final of the Spanish Cup against Real Sociedad (4:4) the Ukrainian himself suffered a soleus muscle injury.

There was information that Lunin could fall out of the game for four weeks, and in the game with Valencia it was not excluded that he would take the field on painkiller injections. Ultimately, Andrei remained on the bench, and the place in goal was unexpectedly taken by 19-year-old debutant Fran Gonzalez.

In the Primera tournament table, Real is in second place, three points behind the leader Barcelona. At the same time, the Catalans are currently playing their match of the 30th round against Betis and can increase their lead.

On Tuesday, April 8, Real will play the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals – Carlo Ancelotti's team will meet Arsenal in London.
