Viktor Milevskyi – about the championship fight and economic prospects of Ukraine
The owner of the ONK group of companies, Viktor Milevsky, founded the Global Ukrainian Promotion promotion company a year ago . The results of its work are impressive – on May 1, Sergey Radchenko will fight for the WBC world champion title in bridgerweight (up to 101.6 kg). For the first time in the history of Ukrainian professional boxing, the championship megafight will take place in Africa. Radchenko’s opponent will be the current champion, 32-year-old South African Kevin Leren. The megafight will take place in the capital of South Africa, Pretoria.
“When I said a year ago that in 2025 our boxer would fight for the WBC championship title, no one believed me,” says Viktor Milevsky . “But in the end, my words were not at odds with my actions. We have already signed a contract for the fight, and Sergey is carefully preparing for the most important fight in the training camp. Radchenko will have to pass a difficult test. Lerena has had 33 fights in the ring, winning 30. In 2022, in London, Kevin fought with the Briton Daniel Dubois and knocked him down twice in the first round. In 2016, in Denmark, Lerena defeated Igor Pilipenko. In 2018, in South Africa, Dmitry Kucher, and in Azerbaijan, Roman Golovashchenko. Sergey will become the fourth Ukrainian among Kevin's opponents and will try to break this negative tradition for us. Radchenko has the necessary experience for this; it’s no wonder that he once worked as a sparring partner in the training camps of Vladimir Klitschko and Alexander Usyk.”
The careers of other Global Ukrainian Promotion boxers are also developing. 23-year-old Yaroslav Mykhaylushko became the WBC Youth world champion in 2024, his track record includes 10 wins in 10 fights, and he won 9 fights by knockout. 24-year-old Max Molodan has 7 wins in 7 fights.
At the same time, Viktor Milevsky helps children's football, hockey and boxing teams from his native Odessa region. The owner of the ONK group of companies believes in the happy future of Ukrainian sports and the sustainable development of the Ukrainian economy.
“After all, these are interconnected things,” explains Victor. “In the US and UK, the professional boxing market is based on solvent fans who buy paid TV broadcasts of fights and tickets to boxing evenings for serious money. In our country, the situation is different for now.
“Imagine a future in which Ukraine is a world leader in the extraction and processing of rare earth metals,” Viktor Milevsky continues to finalize his picture of the world in 10 years. “Lithium, nickel, cobalt – key resources for electric vehicles, batteries and high technologies – are extracted and processed at state-of-the-art Ukrainian plants. Hydrogen technologies and lithium-ion batteries are conquering the world. We will build innovative enterprises and automated mining complexes. We will use an ecological approach – sustainable development without harming the planet. Ukraine is not only the breadbasket of Europe, but also a strategic center of the global industry. The energy of the future is in our hands! Now for whom this sounds fantastic – as a year ago my forecasts regarding the development of Global Ukrainian Promotion”.
