Inter Miami's Argentine striker Lionel Messi has set a record in the club's history.
In the regular season MLS game against Toronto (1:1), Lionel scored a goal in the first half's stoppage time. This goal was the Argentine's 44th as part of Miami.
Thus, Messi became the best player in the club's history in the “goal+pass” system: it took him 29 games to achieve this figure. The previous record was set by Gonzalo Higuain (43 assists in 67 matches).
Inter Miami is in second place in the MLS Eastern Conference after six games. On April 13, Messi's team will play Chicago Fire, and before that, on April 10, they will play the return match against Ukrainian Artem Smolyakov's Los Angeles FC in the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarterfinals.
