Ukrainian guard of Riga VEF Issuf Sanon was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for the 2024/25 regular season of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League .

Let us recall that after two seasons in Prometey, the main team of which participated in the same LEBL after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and became its champion twice, and at the same time reached the semi-finals of the Eurocup, the Ukrainian basketball player got a job in the Latvian VEF. Before the start of the current season, Prometey ceased to exist.

Sanon played all 28 games in the 2024/25 regular season, averaging 25 minutes per game, 14.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals.

Earlier this season, the 25-year-old Ukrainian was named MVP of the Latvian Cup final.

VEF won the regular season, suffering only three defeats along the way. Then the Riga team went through two playoff rounds, defeating Ventspils and Ogre. In the final on April 13, VEF will face another Riga club from the capital of Latvia – Rigas Zelli.
