Ukrainian athlete Vitalii Mandzyn has been included in the list of nominees for the title of Best Rookie of the 2023/2024 Biathlon World Cup season. His candidacy was submitted by the International Biathlon Union (IBU), which annually recognizes young athletes who have made a strong impression on the global stage, reports the Baltimore Chronicle.

This season, Mandzyn participated in World Cup competitions on a regular basis for the first time. Despite being a debutant, he delivered confident performances, showing endurance and the ability to compete with experienced rivals. His results did not go unnoticed by experts and fans alike.

Along with Mandzyn, five other male biathletes are in contention for the title of “Rookie of the Season,” including representatives from Norway, Germany, the United States, France, and Sweden. All of them took part in their first full World Cup season, where they demonstrated impressive athletic achievements and consistent performances.
