Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina, currently ranked 13th in the WTA standings, has concluded her run at the WTA 1000 tournament in Montreal, Canada. In the quarterfinals, she was defeated by Japan’s Naomi Osaka, ranked 49th in the world. The match ended with a score of 2–6, 2–6, lasting 1 hour and 9 minutes, reports Baltimore Chronicle.
This was the eighth encounter between the two players, and now the head-to-head record stands at 5–3 in favor of Osaka. In the semifinals, Naomi Osaka will face Denmark’s Clara Tauson.
