On the night of December 31, Russian terrorists used 49 Shahed-136/131 type drones against Ukraine. They were launched from three directions.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Telegram channel of the Air Force.

The enemy launched UAVs from three directions:

  • Crimean Cape Chauda;
  • Russian Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
  • Kursk region of Russia.

In total it was recorded:

  • 49 Shahed-136/131 drones;
  • six S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, which the enemy attacked Kharkov.

“The enemy sent most of the strike drones along the front line of defense, as well as at civilian, military and infrastructure facilities in the front-line territories, in particular in the Kharkov, Kherson, Nikolaev regions and Zaporozhye,” the Air Force writes.

Night attack on Ukraine on December 31

As the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said, that night the air defense destroyed a total of 21 Russian drones. Southern defense forces shot down 7 drones over the Nikolaev and Odessa regions.

Around one o'clock in the morning explosions occurred in Kharkov. As a result of one of the explosions, a fire broke out in the city center. After this, Mayor Igor Terekhov reported several arrivals in the center of Kharkov. The Russian drone attack damaged buildings in the city center and destroyed water supply networks.

Also, as a result of hits in the Kherson region, several private houses in the Tyagin community were damaged, and in the Odessa region, debris from a downed UAV caused a fire in the coastal zone of the Odessa region.
