Audi has shown the first official image of the next-generation A6 Avant wagon. The model will be based on the PPC platform, which underpins the new A5 and Q5. The wagon will also share its engine range with them.
RBC-Ukraine reports this with reference to the company’s press service.
It is stated that Audi will present the new A6 Avant on March 4. Since the premiere of the electric station wagon has already taken place, we are talking about the version with an internal combustion engine on the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) platform. The so-called digital stage will appear in the car's interior – a cluster of three displays. And the range of engines will include petrol and diesel hybrids.
In the related Audi A5, the role of the initial unit is assigned to the petrol 2.0 TFSI with a capacity of 150 horsepower. It is combined with a “robot” and front-wheel drive, while the 204-horsepower version can be supplemented with a quattro ultra all-wheel drive transmission. In addition, the range includes a diesel 2.0 TDI (204 hp, 400 Nm) and a petrol V6 3.0 TFSI (367 hp, 550 Nm).
It is not yet known whether German engineers are preparing a sports version of the RS 6 Avant. The current generation of the super-station wagon is equipped with a 4.0-liter gasoline V8 with a 48-volt starter-generator with a capacity of 650 hp. Acceleration from zero to “hundreds” takes 3.4 seconds, the maximum speed is 305 km/h.
