A new school bus called “Historian” was presented in Ukraine. It is based on the Peugeot Boxer minibus.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the manufacturing company.
The production of the new school bus is organized as a joint project between Peugeot Center Ilta Lviv, which provides the basis for the Peugeot Boxer, and B.R.S. LLC, which is responsible for the production of the bus body and interior design.
The new school bus “Istorik” is 6.96 meters long, and the wheelbase has been extended by 4 meters. This made it possible to equip a standard passenger compartment with 22 seats, excluding the driver's seat, or a special compartment with 18 seats (if it is necessary to transport people with disabilities of the musculoskeletal system and with an additional area for placing a stroller).
The bus has service front side doors. There is also an emergency exit located behind and an emergency ventilation hatch.
The school bus is equipped with a 2.2-liter diesel engine with 165 hp, working in tandem with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Using a Peugeot Boxer or Opel Movano as a basis means that the official factory warranty is extended to the chassis components: today this warranty is two years without mileage limitation.
