Ukrainian intelligence showed the US a diagram of Russia's future attack on Ukraine back in the fall of 2021. The directions and methods of the invasion were already known then.
This was stated by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirill Budanov, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to his interview with Ukrinform.
“Around October 2021, there was such an interview in the United States, when I showed a diagram – how it would be, with what forces, in what directions the attack would take place. At that time, this information was already made public,” Budanov said.
According to him, as of 2021, intelligence not only knew, but had already made public data on the directions and methods of the Russian offensive in Ukraine.
“You see, if we have made something public, it means that it definitely happened everywhere before that moment. Let me remind you once again: it was October (Budanov's interview in which he spoke about the upcoming offensive of the Russian Federation – ed.), you can definitely look it up, now it is possible to find it in open sources,” the head of the GUR emphasized.
Budanov made this statement while commenting on a question from journalists about a recent interview with General Sergei Nayev, in which he stated that he had no information about a full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation.
Note that earlier this month he said that the military did not have a single document stating that Russia's offensive would begin on February 24, 2022.
Let us recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Serhiy Nayev from the post of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine last year.
