The Opel Insignia sedan was discontinued back in 2022, and the promised crossover successor never appeared. But the Chinese Buick Regal sedan, which became a variation of the European Insignia in 2017, is still being produced and has undergone a major update.

So, the front part of the car largely repeats the 2020 model, when the radiator grille was still compact, and the main difference was the bumper with other air intakes. At the stern, another bumper with real exhaust pipes appeared. Another sign of the new version of the GS is a spoiler on the trunk lid, painted black. In addition, dark decor appeared all over the body.
In the cabin, the driver still has an eight-inch instrument panel with analog scales on the sides, and the center console has a neatly integrated eight-inch media system display. The transmission is controlled by a set of buttons on the central tunnel.
If until 2023 the Regal GS had driver-oriented chassis settings and reinforced Brembo brakes, now none of this is there. The revived GS version completely repeats the base Regal. It even has a base 1.5-liter turbo engine (169 hp, 250 Nm) along with a 2.0-liter engine (237 hp, 350 Nm). All cars have a classic nine-speed automatic. The Buick Regal GS will return to the Chinese market in the second quarter. The base Regal now costs $22-24 thousand there.
