Skoda has unveiled a special police station wagon based on the Octavia RS. The new model with two body types was shown in the livery of the British police. Such cars have a 265-horsepower 2.0-liter engine under the hood.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the car manufacturer.
The power unit provides acceleration from zero to “hundred” in 6.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 250 km/h. The new models have all the attributes of police cars in place: flashing beacons in the radiator grille, a “chandelier” on the roof, radio communication and loudspeakers.
Let us recall that Skoda Octavia was updated in February 2024, and the charged version with the RS prefix was also shown at the same time. With the restyling, the RS version lost its 200-horsepower diesel engine, all-wheel drive and manual transmission, but the gasoline two-liter turbo engine received increased power. Since then, it develops 20 more horsepower than on the previous Octavia RS and works in conjunction with the only seven-speed “robot” DSG.
The sports version has a stiffer suspension, lowered by 15 millimetres compared to the base Octavia, 19-inch wheels instead of 18-inch ones, matrix headlights and seats with developed lateral support.
It was this station wagon that was turned into a police car for law enforcement agencies in Britain. Skoda will probably offer the new factory version to police forces in other countries.
