US President Donald Trump said no one had been tougher on Russia than he had, stressing that he had stopped important Kremlin economic projects.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to his interview with Fox News.

The journalist asked Trump if there was anything else he wanted to say to those critics who claim that he has chosen a side in the war between Ukraine and Russia, and that that side is Russia. He recalled that Trump had previously called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a dictator and had a conflict with him.

Nobody has been tougher on Russia than Donald Trump . Nobody. And they know it. Just look at the things I just told you about. The pipeline. I stopped it. It's the biggest project they've ever done – the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. Nobody had even heard of it until I came along,” the US president stressed.

Trump explained that Russia was building the pipeline with the intention of supplying gas to Germany and other European countries, and stressed that he was the one who stopped the project. According to him, it was the biggest economic deal Russia had ever had, and he was the obstacle to its implementation.

According to Trump, former US President Joe Biden restored it.

“Biden came, on the second day he approved it. He said: 'Let it go further.' Everything was completely stopped. That alone gives you the whole picture. No, I was tough, but at the same time I found a common language with (Russian dictator Vladimir, – ed.) Putin,” the US leader noted.

Trump noted that he had managed to establish mutual understanding with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un and Chinese President Xi Jinping, but he also stressed that no one had been as tough on China as he had been.

Trump halts military aid to Ukraine

Let us recall that on the night of March 4, the media reported that President Trump ordered the suspension of all military aid to Ukraine following a conflict with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House.

The discussion was, in particular, about the US weapons that were already being transported by planes, ships, and what was on the territory of Europe.

In addition, the United States has reduced the exchange of intelligence that the Ukrainian Armed Forces could use to attack Russian territory. At the same time, the United States continues to share data that could help the Ukrainian Armed Forces defend themselves.

In addition, NBC News wrote today that Trump will not resume aid to Ukraine even after the minerals agreement is signed. In addition to this agreement, he wants to see changes in Zelensky's attitude to peace talks, in particular, a willingness to make territorial concessions.
