Russia wants to encircle the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk direction, but on Ukrainian territory. The command knows about the enemy's plans.

RBC-Ukraine reported this with reference to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a briefing.

“What are these signals that came from the Russian side? I believe that it is the Russian side that wants to encircle the Ukrainian military. In the same direction (Kursk – ed.), but on the territory of Ukraine. It is important that our troops know this, the command knows where they want to do this,” the president said.

Zelensky stressed that the Russians want maximum presence on the territory of Ukraine, there is nothing new in this.

“Our partners have satellites, let them see where the Russians are amassing troops and where they are sent. Then it will become clear why. There is no talk of peace there,” the head of state emphasized.

The situation in the Kursk region

Let us recall that in March, Ukrainian border guards reported that Russians were trying to break through the border in Sumy Oblast. This is also accompanied by an intensification of the Russian offensive in Kursk Oblast.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia is amassing troops near Ukraine's eastern border. According to him, this indicates a desire to strike at the Sumy region.

The head of the Central Control Center, Andrey Kovalenko, noted that the Russians are accumulating forces to strike at the Sumy region, but there is no talk of an offensive.
