On Monday, March 17, power outage schedules will be applied in Ukraine. However, they will only affect industry and business.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Ukrenergo.

“Due to the difficult situation in the power grid, tomorrow, March 17, power restrictions will be applied for industry and business,” the company said in a statement.

Time of application of restrictions:

  • 06:00 – 20:00

Ukrenergo added that the reason for introducing restrictions is the consequences of Russian attacks on energy facilities.

At the same time, disconnection of household consumers is not expected.

At the same time, Ukrenergo noted that the situation in the energy system may change. Therefore, consumers should follow the following messages.

Russian strikes on Ukraine's energy system

Recall that in 2024, Russia systematically attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This led to the introduction of power outage schedules in the country.

At the same time, in December 2024 and January 2025, almost no schedules were introduced. And in early February, information spread online that power outages would allegedly return in Ukraine from the beginning of February due to a significant cold snap. However, Ukrenergo denied such statements.

However, in early March, power outage schedules were already applied several times. Power outage schedules were applied on March 1. Ukrenergo then explained the power limitation by the difficult situation in the Ukrainian energy system.

Also on March 3, Ukraine again applied power outage schedules for the same reason. However, in both cases, they affected only industry and business.

And on the night of March 15, Russian troops again launched a massive attack on energy facilities in two regions of Ukraine. As a result of the shelling, facilities in the Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions suffered significant damage.
