Nissan will not abandon the production of the GT-R supercar and will revive the classic rear-wheel drive Silvia coupe, which was popular in the 80s and 90s of the last century.
This was stated by the head of Nissan Ivan Espinosa, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to Automotive News.
The top manager did not disclose details of the changes that will affect the brand's iconic cars, but emphasized that specialists are already working in these areas. At the same time, the company plans to release new models in the future that will become the manufacturer's flagships.
Espinosa said that he is not yet ready to talk about the release dates of the new generation GT-R, as well as in what form the iconic line will be presented. At the same time, the head of Nissan said that the company has already begun work on the revival of the Silvia coupe. According to the top manager, sports cars are part of the company's DNA, so specialists will not refuse to work with them.
It also became known that Nissan will have a new flagship model range in the future. Espinosa expects the company to develop four or five cars that will top the brand's product list. One of the cars could be an extreme version of the Patrol SUV. The flagships will be sold worldwide.
