In Ukraine, on the night of March 29-30, 2025, the transition to summer time will take place. The clocks will need to be moved forward one hour.
RBC-Ukraine reports on this.
At 3:00 a.m., the clocks need to be moved forward one hour to 4:00 a.m. This means you'll have to sleep an hour less, but the daylight hours will be longer.
Most modern electronic devices, such as smartphones, computers, and tablets, change the time automatically. However, mechanical watches and some other devices require manual adjustment.
How to find out the exact time
To check the current time, you can use specialized online services that display the exact time and date. For example, the Time.is website provides the exact, official atomic time for any time zone and location. Another resource, 24TimeZones, allows you to quickly find out the local time in different cities around the world. The Dayspedia website displays the exact time and date online.

Cancellation of the clock change in Ukraine
The issue of abolishing the seasonal change of time in Ukraine has been discussed for several years. In August 2024, the Verkhovna Rada adopted bill No. 4201, which provides for the abandonment of the transition to summer time and the establishment of permanent winter time (GMT + 2). However, this bill has not yet been signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky, so the transition to summer time in 2025 remains in force.
Discussions about the abolition of seasonal time change in Ukraine have been going on for more than a decade. The main difficulty lies in the country's geographical location: the western and eastern regions have significant differences in sunrise and sunset times. This makes it difficult to choose a single time zone that would equally meet the needs of all regions.
When did they start changing clocks in Ukraine?
The change of clocks in Ukraine is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of May 13, 1996. According to it, the transition to summer time occurs on the last Sunday of March, and the return to winter time – on the last Sunday of October.
The main purpose of changing the clocks is to use daylight more efficiently and save electricity. However, doctors warn that such changes can negatively affect people's biorhythms, causing fatigue, stress and sleep problems.
The next clock change will take place on the night of October 25-26, 2025, when Ukraine will return to winter time.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine wrote that the transition to daylight saving time can affect human biological rhythms, causing fatigue, insomnia, and decreased performance. To facilitate adaptation to the time change, experts recommend: gradually changing your sleep schedule, limiting the use of gadgets, spending more time outdoors, eating a balanced diet, and creating favorable conditions for sleep.
Following these recommendations will help reduce stress and the negative impact of the clock change on the body.
