The compact crossover Citroën C3 has received a hybrid version. The new version of the car should create competition for Renault Clio E-Tech.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Autocar.
This power unit is already familiar to European motorists, because it is already installed in the Alfa Romeo Junior, Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa, where it develops 134 hp, but in the Citroën C3 its power is 108 hp. With the new power unit, the crossover accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is 190 km/h.
The system is set up so that the car is driven by the electric motor at low speeds, such as when driving in traffic jams. Citroën claims that in such scenarios the crossover can run on electricity up to half the time.
The company added that in combined mode the system emits 10% less CO2 than the 99hp petrol C3, which has no electric assistance.
Prices for the hybrid Citroën C3 start at 21 thousand euros. It is known that European buyers will be offered two trim levels. The basic version by default has LED headlights, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and rear parking sensors. The top version adds climate control, heated front seats and steering wheel, as well as a rear-view camera.
