All Ukrainians, both in the rear and at the front, must work for victory. Those who do not do this cannot consider themselves citizens.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to an interview with the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov.

When asked what advice he would give to that part of society that has not yet woken up, he said that this time has already passed and it is too late to “wake up”.

“If he hasn't woken up in 11 years, then apparently it's not his,” Budanov said.

When asked how to motivate a person today to defend the country, and what needs to be done now, including for the future generation, the head of the GUR said the following:

“A rhetorical question. I would even pose you a counter-question. How can there be a citizen of Ukraine who does not want to defend Ukraine? And is he a citizen after that,” Budanov asked.

He added that no matter how harsh it may sound, such a person cannot consider himself a citizen. Moreover, this is how society should perceive him.

“He cannot in any way consider himself a citizen. And society should perceive him exactly as such. No matter how harsh it may sound. Someone can defend with a machine gun in his hands, someone can, as they say, forge victory in the rear, but everyone must work for this victory. And if a person says, such and such, what does this have to do with me? Let someone else do it? No, you are not a citizen,” he summed up.

What else did Budanov say?

Let us recall that in the same interview, Kirill Budanov predicted whether Russia would reduce its army after the war.

In his opinion, this reduction will not happen and this is explained from an economic point of view. In particular, now money from the military budget of the Russian Federation goes to payments to the military, the purchase of ammunition, repair and maintenance of equipment. But after the end of the war, these costs will not be. Thus, Moscow is not going to reduce its army
