Grand Theft Auto 6 is set for release in 2026, with less than a year remaining before launch. Anticipation continues to grow each month, and fans are hoping Rockstar will unveil a new trailer by the end of the year, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing VGTech.

While much of the project remains under wraps, new information suggests Rockstar has made major advancements in water physics. According to the report, the studio aims to deliver the most realistic water simulation ever seen in a video game.

A dedicated team of 20 engineers is working solely on this system. Between $200 and $300 million has reportedly been allocated to water physics alone, while the overall budget of GTA 6 is expected to exceed $2 billion.

Players can look forward to dynamic tides, surfing as a new activity, and natural disasters such as hurricanes and floods. These mechanics will be integrated into the open world’s weather system, significantly enhancing immersion.

Although Rockstar has not officially confirmed these features, publisher Take-Two Interactive previously stated that the next installment of the series is designed to perfect the classic GTA formula. This makes it highly likely that many of these innovations will appear in the final release.
