Starting September 3, Ukrainian enterprises classified as critically important and operating in frontline regions have been granted the right to defer from mobilization all of their employees subject to military duty. Previously, companies were only allowed to reserve up to 50% of their workforce, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

The ministry emphasized that the updated regulation aims to help businesses maintain operations under wartime conditions while simultaneously supporting the defense sector.

Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Vitalii Kindrativ explained that this measure enables the preservation of jobs and at the same time secures resources necessary for the Armed Forces.

The reservation procedure is carried out through the Diia portal. A company located in an active combat zone must submit a request to the regional military administration to increase its deferment quota to 100%. Following verification, and if the decision is positive, the administration forwards the request to the state authority that officially recognized the company as critically important.

Once approved, the quota is expanded via Diia, allowing the enterprise to reserve all of its military-liable employees without exception.
