The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) is investigating another episode related to the actions of former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov during his tenure as head of the state-owned company Naftogaz Ukraine. The investigation concerns the employment of security personnel and domestic staff who were essentially working for Chernyshov. The positions provided salaries of at least 300,000 UAH per month and exemption from mobilization, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to ZN.UA

According to information obtained by journalists, this episode was mentioned in a court ruling, which served as the basis for searches conducted at Chernyshov’s residence in June. However, the investigation into this episode has been suspended due to the passing of a law that removed the independence of anti-corruption agencies. As a result, NABU temporarily halted the investigation into this matter.
