Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree appointing former Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna as Ukraine’s new ambassador to the United States. The announcement was made during Zelensky’s evening address, reports Baltimore Chronicle with reference to UBP.

Zelensky said he had already spoken with Stefanishyna in her new capacity as ambassador. According to him, all formal procedures have been completed, and today he signed the decree finalizing the appointment. The president outlined the key priorities for the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington, stressing the importance of fully implementing the agreements reached between Kyiv and the White House.

Special emphasis, Zelensky added, is placed on cooperation with U.S. President Donald Trump, particularly in the defense sector. He highlighted that Ukraine’s long-term security depends significantly on the level of relations with Washington.

The head of state also mentioned two Ukrainian proposals currently on the table for discussion with the American side. These include an agreement on arms supplies to Ukraine and a deal regarding advanced drones for the United States. Zelensky expressed expectations of swift progress in advancing these initiatives.
