During a military parade, Chinese leader Xi Jinping declared that humanity now faces a choice “between peace and war.” The event was attended by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, reports Baltimore Chronicle citing CNN.
Xi Jinping stressed that the world must decide between dialogue and confrontation, mutually beneficial cooperation or a “zero-sum game.” While avoiding specific examples, he emphasized that issues of peace and security are becoming central to global stability.
The head of China also highlighted his country’s role in World War II. According to him, the Chinese people made enormous national sacrifices, but at the same time contributed significantly to preserving peace and safeguarding civilization.
“History reminds us that the fate of humanity is closely linked,” Xi Jinping noted. He underlined that only by treating each other as equals, living in harmony, and providing mutual support can nations ensure common security, eliminate the root causes of war, and prevent the recurrence of historical tragedies.
