Four residents of the Lviv region died from coronavirus last week, doctors are calling for vaccination.
Lviv Regional State Administration reports this, Ukrinform reports.
«On COVID- 19, 91 residents of the Lviv region fell ill during the week. Four deaths from COVID-19 were registered: two in Lviv, one case each in the Stryisky and Sambir districts. All patients were not vaccinated. 30 patients were hospitalized for COVID-19, regarding influenza and ARVI. 160 patients,” said Natalya Ivanchenko, General Director of the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, as the most dangerous infectious respiratory disease that regularly circulates. But thanks to vaccines, this disease has become just another seasonal disease.
«Our goal is to continue to protect those at risk of serious consequences from coronavirus, and to remind people of simple and clear recommendations. COVID-19 is not causing as many hospitalizations and deaths as it did in the early years of the pandemic, but it is still particularly dangerous for older adults and people with other medical conditions – Litvinskaya added.
1,102,787 people were vaccinated with one dose of the vaccine against COVID-19 in the Lviv region, two doses – 1,039,638 people. 212,030 people received the first booster dose, the second – 25,824.
As Ukrinform reported, three weeks ago in the Lviv region the level of coronavirus and ARVI was almost 66% higher than the epidemiological threshold.
