Photo In the Lviv region, the latest computed tomography (CT) scanner was installed for the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies of organs and systems.
The Ministry of Health reported this, Ukrinform reports.
"A modern General Electric Optima CT520 computer tomograph was installed at the Lviv Regional Clinical Diagnostic Center. Medical equipment was purchased as part of one of the joint projects of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank, the message says.
As noted by the Ministry of Health, from now on, doctors at medical institutions will be able to quickly and safely diagnose pathological conditions, carry out differential diagnostics, determine subsequent treatment tactics for the patient, etc.
In the medical institution, about 150-160 thousand patients annually receive the necessary medical care and more than 45 thousand are examined. The presence of a new CT will expand the quantity and quality of services in the center. It is planned that with the help of the equipment, doctors will be able to serve another 10-20 additional patients per day.
Also, as the ministry added, the Lviv Regional Clinical Diagnostic Center is a base for interns, aspiring doctors thanks new technology can gain new practical knowledge and learn diagnostics using the latest equipment.
Currently, a computed tomograph has already been installed in the diagnostic center, medical personnel are undergoing qualified training for further work with the equipment. After providing the appropriate permit for the right to operate a CT scanner from DIYAR, the device will begin its full operation.
As reported, within the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the World Bank, the latest computed tomograph was installed at the Kiev Regional Children's Hospital.
