Ukraine's public debt amounted to UAH 6.4 trillion in September.
As of September 30, 2024, Ukraine's public and publicly guaranteed debt amounted to UAH 6.4 trillion, or $155.56 billion.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
- Public and publicly guaranteed external debt amounts to 4 612.99 billion UAH (72.03% of the total amount of public and publicly guaranteed debt), or 112.06 billion US dollars;
- public and publicly guaranteed domestic debt – 1,791.01 billion UAH (27.97%), or 43.51 billion US dollars.
During September 2024, the amount of public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine increased in hryvnia equivalent by 32.31 billion UAH. In dollar equivalent, public and publicly guaranteed debt increased by 0.87 billion US dollars.
The head of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danylo Hetmantsev, predicts that in October we should expect a continuation of the trend towards a noticeable increase in domestic public debt. In addition, in October we should also expect a resumption of growth in external public debt due to the provision of the 6th tranche under the EFF program in the amount of 1.1 billion dollars.
Earlier it was reported that the Verkhovna Rada wants to increase spending on prosecutors' salaries by 3 billion UAH.
