Ukrainians almost always seek to increase their pensions through the courts.
The size of the largest pension in Ukraine is 390 thousand 184 UAH per month. In addition, 4900 Ukrainians receive pensions over 50 thousand UAH.
This is stated in the publication of OBOZ.UA with reference to the response of the Ministry of Social Policy.
In Ukraine, there is a limit on the size of the pension – it cannot exceed 10 subsistence minimums for disabled persons. Currently, it is 23 thousand 600 UAH. However, tens of thousands of pensioners managed to circumvent this limitation by going to court. Thus, the court ordered the Pension Fund to recalculate.
As reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, as of November 24,600 pensioners receive payments exceeding 23,610 UAH. In particular, 4,900 Ukrainians receive pensions of more than 50 thousand UAH. We are talking about judges, prosecutors, military personnel, “Chernobyl” and other “special” pensions. Every month, 9.9 billion UAH is spent on these payments.
The largest pension in Ukraine is 390 thousand 184 UAH.For comparison, a total of 10 million 342 thousand 593 people receive pensions. Every month, 60.5 billion UAH is spent on these payments. If we divide the total amount by the number of pensioners, it turns out that the average pension in Ukraine is 5851 UAH.
However, in fact, there are only 7 million 533 thousand pensioners who have retired according to the general rules. 42.4 billion UAH is spent on payments to them every month. Thus, the average pension of an “ordinary” pensioner is 5635 UAH.
It is noted that pensions are almost always increased through the courts. As the First Deputy Minister of Social Policy Daria Marchak told the publication, in total, pension increases for Ukrainians were assigned based on more than 672 thousand court decisions. According to these decisions, UAH 96 billion has been paid since 2019. Another UAH 76 billion is an additional debt that the Pension Fund of Ukraine must pay.
Recall that in Ukraine, pensions have increased for some recipients since November. For another part of Ukrainians, pensions will increase in December.
