 How many Ukrainians receive a pension of more than 10 thousand hryvnia: the Pension Fund of Ukraine named the figure

According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, more than half of Ukrainians receive pensions of up to 5 thousand hryvnia.

As of January 1, 2025, 1,261,712 Ukrainians received pensions of more than 10 thousand hryvnia. This is 12.2% of the total number of pensioners (10,343,630 people).

This is evidenced by the data of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, more than half of Ukrainians receive pensions of up to 5 thousand hryvnia.

The size of pensions is distributed as follows:

  • up to 3,000 hryvnia – 25.9%, 2,684,075 people, the average pension is 2,759.86 hryvnia,
  • from 3,001 to 4,000 hryvnia – 17.9%, 1,817,897 people, the average pension is 3,544.23 hryvnia,
  • from 4,001 to 5,000 hryvnia – 18.8%, 1,943,939 people, the average pension – 4,414.06 UAH,
  • from 5,001 to 10,000 UAH – 25.5%, 2,636,007 people, average pension – 6,844.95 UAH,
  • over 10,000 UAH – 12.2%, 1,261,712 people, average pension – 15,379.97 UAH.

Note that the average pension as of January 1, 2025 was 5,789.05 UAH. The average pension has increased by UAH 403.8 or 7.5% since the beginning of the year.

The number of pensioners has decreased by 172,907 people to 10,343,630 people over the year.

We remind you that in Ukraine in 2025 the largest special pensions will be limited. This innovation will affect more than 17 thousand pensioners. It will be in effect for the period of martial law in 2025.
