There are almost no medium and low quality vegetables left on the market.
This week, prices for white cabbage in Ukraine have started to rise again. As of January 29, its price is 40 UAH per kg. By the end of January, many producers had sold out most of their cabbage stocks.
This is reported by EastFruit, citing daily monitoring by analysts.
“Sale prices for white cabbage in farms have already risen to UAH 34-40/kg ($0.81-0.95/kg), depending on the quality and volume of the offered batches of products, which is on average 15% more expensive than at the end of the last working week,” the project's analysts note.
They add that cabbage has once again topped the rating with the highest prices among all borscht set items in Ukraine.
There is a rapid decline in cabbage stocks in farms. Farmers have begun to hold back the sale of quality vegetables, which has led to another price hike this week. This information is also confirmed by wholesale companies, noting a general reduction in cabbage supply on the market.
Today, prices for such a product as white cabbage in Ukraine are already on average 3.7 times higher than for the same period last year.
The agricultural market allows for the possibility of further price increases for this product. The rate of price growth will accelerate with the reduction of stocks of this product in households.
