The government has updated and expanded support programs for Ukrainians: a list has been published.
“Winter support” is both new and existing programs that the government has expanded so that more Ukrainians can take advantage of them.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on February 4 in Telegram.
- “Winter eSupport”, under which every Ukrainian can receive a thousand hryvnia. The payment is available, in particular, for children. Currently, more than 13 million citizens have applied for funds. Of these, about 12 million have received their payments.
- “Warm Winter”. We have decided to pay a benefit of 6,500 UAH to each child from low-income families and IDP families receiving state support.
- “Unchanged Winter Tariffs”. Tariffs for gas, heat and electricity remain unchanged until the end of the heating season.
- “Affordable Subsidies”. About 3 million families receive assistance from the state to pay for utilities. Another 250 thousand households from frontline communities received more than UAH 3.4 billion to buy firewood and coal.
- Assistance to internally displaced persons. Since January 29 of this year, IDPs can apply for a subsidy for housing rental.
- Free meals for schoolchildren. This winter, more than a million primary school students have already been provided with such meals. For these needs, the state has distributed a resource of more than UAH 2.8 billion to communities this year.
- “Teacher's allowance”. Since January of this year, school teachers have been receiving an additional monthly payment.
- “Even more affordable medicine”. We expanded this program to a record level at the end of last year. We added more than 50 drugs to the list of affordable medicines. Thanks to a record budget of UAH 6.6 billion, another 500 thousand citizens will be able to use the program this year.
- eBook. 18-year-old Ukrainians can receive UAH 908 to buy Ukrainian books. More than 90 thousand people have already applied. More than 84 thousand applicants received funds.
Recall that The Cabinet of Ministers changed the procedure for payments to veterans and families of deceased military personnel.
