The restrictions will apply to special pensions assigned not on a general basis, but according to certain laws.
New rules for calculating special pensions assigned to customs officers, civil servants, prosecutors, people's deputies, members of the government, diplomats, scientists, Chernobyl victims and several other categories have come into force in Ukraine. Now, those whose pension exceeds 10 subsistence minimums will have their payments recalculated using new coefficients in order to reduce their size.
This was reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
“The decision to introduce coefficients for pensions exceeding 10 subsistence minimums established for persons who have lost their ability to work (UAH 2,361), that is, for those pensions exceeding UAH 23,610, was adopted by the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2025″ (Article 46)”
The restrictive coefficients will be applied to pensions assigned in accordance with a number of laws:
- On the Prosecutor's Office;
- On the Status of a People's Deputy of Ukraine;
- On the National Bank of Ukraine;
- On the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine;
- On Civil Service;
- On Diplomatic Service;
- On Service in Local Government Bodies;
- On Forensic Examination;
- On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens Affected by the Chernobyl Disaster;
- On State Support for Mass Media and Social Protection of Journalists;
- On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities;
- On Pension Provision for Persons Dismissed from Military Service and Certain Other Persons;
- The Customs Code of Ukraine;
- Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada “On Approval of the Regulation on assistant-consultant of the people's deputy of Ukraine”.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine noted that most ordinary pensioners are not threatened by new restrictions.
Recall that President Zelensky announced that in 2025, pension indexation will begin on March 1.
