The World Bank has estimated the direct losses of the Ukrainian agricultural sector as a result of the war

According to World Bank experts, the Ukrainian agricultural sector suffered losses amounting to $11.2 billion as a result of the full-scale invasion.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

“According to the World Bank's calculations, direct losses in the agricultural sector amounted to $11.2 billion. A separate item, $700 million, is the cost of irrigation and water resources,” the report says.

A new World Bank report assessing losses and needs estimates that Ukraine will need $524 billion to rebuild over the next decade, up $38 billion from previous estimates.

Of the total long-term needs, the need for restoration and resumption of trade and industry was estimated at more than $64 billion, and for agriculture at over $55 billion.

As reported, according to the latest estimates, the Ukrainian agricultural sector suffered more than $80 billion in direct losses and damages as a result of the full-scale invasion.
