US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent explained why Washington did not approve the import of goods from Russia and Belarus.
Speaking about this in an interview on Fox News, Ukrinform reports.
Bessent stated that the acquired States do not trade with Russia and Belarus, both of which are subject to sanctions.
“We do not trade with Russia and Belarus. “Stink under sanctions,” he said, looming on the basis of economic exchanges raised against Russia for invading Ukraine.
However, according to Fox News, the Office of the US Trade Representative found that in 2024 the total trade between the United States and Russia was approximately 3.5 billion dollars.
Based on data from the government agency, exports of American goods to Russia in 2024 reached $526.1 million, which is 12.3% less than in 2023, and imports from Russia – $3 billion, which is 34.2% less, lower poser.
