The Ministry of Energy predicted how much the tariff for electricity could increase.

Deputy Minister of Energy Nikolai Kolesnik spoke about this during the telethon.

“Due to the change in the tariff last year, we managed to get through the heating season last year. Actually, calculations are carried out by analogy today. There is no final amount… We understand that the decision will be balanced between the capabilities of the population, between accessibility and those funds that are necessary for repair campaign and the possibility of providing electricity to household and industrial consumers,” says the official.

According to Kolesnik, if we draw an analogy with last year, it follows that the electricity tariff may increase by about 1.5-2 times.

Recall that on June 1, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers approved an increase in the electricity tariff to 2.64 UAH/kWh for individual household consumers. Before this, it amounted to 1.44 UAH (per kWh) for consumption up to 250 kWh and 1.68 UAH for consumption over 250 kWh.

Previously it was reported that in the autumn-winter period In 2024-2025, Ukraine will enter with ashortage of electrical powercapacity, the magnitude of which will be determined by the ability to protect the energy system from shelling, and therefore from the supply of military aid from partners.
