The number of millionaires in Ukraine increased by 1,200 people. We are talking about those who, based on the results of 2023, declared an annual income of more than a million hryvnia.

This was announced by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danilo Getmantsev.

The People's Deputy informed about the completion of the campaign for declaring citizens' income for 2023. As of May 1, Ukrainians filed more than 172 thousand tax returns.

Getmantsev indicated that in the submitted declarations declared:

  • annual income in UAH 218.5 billion,
  • tax obligations payable to the personal income tax budget of UAH 4.8 billion (this is UAH 2.1 billion more than last year),
  • military levy of 0.9 billion UAH (this is 0.4 billion UAH more than for the same period last year).

“The number of citizens who, according to the results of 2023declared annual income in the amount of over 1.0 million UAH is 10.7 thousand people(+1.2 thousand people compared to last year), who are determined to pay personal income tax and military tax of more than 1.0 billion UAH,” Getmantsev said in a message.

By the way, Bloomberg has updated the ranking of the richest people in the world. In first place was the French businessman Bernard Arnault, president and CEO of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy group of companies with a fortune of $215 billion.
