JSC “Ukrainian Defense Industry” at the end of the year increased the production of various types of weapons by 12 times – from 52.3 thousand to 637.4 thousand units.
General Director of the company German Smetanin said this at the briefing “Results of the activities of the Ministry of Strategic Industry and Ukroboronprom for 2023,” an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
So, if last year the enterprises that are part of the joint-stock company produced 52.3 thousand units of various types of weapons, this year the result is expected to be 637.4 thousand units.
“Last year we made a little more than 52 thousand, this year we will produce almost 640 thousand units of different types of weapons,” Smetanin noted.
He noted that increasing production volumes is one of the three main tasks set for the company’s management this year.
“This year we have almost doubled our production compared to last year. To be clear, 92%. Last year we earned 42 billion UAH, and this year the company’s income will be about 79 billion UAH,” the director said.
In addition, he recalled, the company repairs equipment: tanks, armored personnel carriers, etc.
As reported, according to information from the Ministry of Strategic Industries, in Ukraine the production of mortar ammunition of various calibers has generally increased 42 times, and artillery shells – almost threefold.
