On December 27, the Cabinet of Ministers simplified the procedure for assigning benefits for payment of housing and communal services (housing and communal services) for war veterans and members of their families. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy.

Current legislation provides that in order to assign benefits for housing and communal services, the recipient must contact the authorized bodies.
“For this reason, Ukrainian war veterans who participate in hostilities and are on the front line were faced with the problem of the impossibility of obtaining these benefits, because they did not have the opportunity to apply for their appointment in person. Consequently, veterans and members of their families did not have the opportunity to take advantage of the social guarantees provided by the state,” the message says.
Consequently, by government decision, an experimental procedure for registering and assigning benefits for paying housing and communal services is being introduced. services for war veterans (persons with disabilities as a result of war, combatants, war participants) and members of their families.
It will start working in 4 months after technical improvements to the information systems.
This procedure simplifies the procedure for entering information into the Register of Persons Eligible for Benefits and assigning benefits for payment of housing and communal services by the Pension Fund of Ukraine. Namely:
- if a war veteran (a person with a disability as a result of war, a participant in hostilities, a participant in the war) cannot independently apply for a benefit for housing and communal services – from May 2024, his members will be able to do this for him families. Instead of the existing two separate ones, it will be possible to submit a single simplified application for registration as a beneficiary and for the provision of benefits. the amount of information that must be provided to assign benefits will decrease. Part of the information of the Ministry of Social Policy and the Pension Fund of Ukraine will be obtained through exchange and interaction between information systems of government agencies. It is possible to submit a simplified application, in addition to paper, also in electronic form, in particular through the “Diya” portal.
