The resource uses data from the non-profit mapping service OpenStreetMap. Those institutions where the administration or clients noted that they accept bitcoins are counted.
According to the interactive map on the BTC Map website, there are four such points in Ukraine, and two in occupied Crimea. In the USA – 1538, in Europe – about 3 thousand.
