359 Ukrainians were recognized as winners of the last wave of the “Own Business” grant program in 2023 and will receive UAH 86.5 million from the state to start or expand a business. In total, more than 10 thousand Ukrainians received microgrants under this program last year. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy on the Government portal.

“Last year, more than 10 thousand Ukrainians received a positive decision to provide a grant worth UAH 2.4 billion. Since the start of the program in July 2022, there are already 13.5 thousand grant recipients, in whose business development the state is investing a total of 3 billion UAH. Thanks to these grants, thousands of new enterprises have opened, twice as many companies are scaling their business, more than 25 thousand jobs have been created,” said Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Tatyana Berezhnaya.
Among the recipients of microgrants in the 23rd wave, 57% are women and 43% men. 70% of them have higher education.
More grant recipients are from the Lviv region (40 people), Vinnytsia region (32 people), Kyiv region (31 people) and the city of Kyiv (31 people). The vast majority of grant recipients plan to spend microgrant funds on the purchase of equipment necessary for running a business.
The most popular areas in which the winners of the 23rd wave will work are:
- wholesale and retail trade, repairs vehicles – 123 people; temporary accommodation and catering – 59 people; processing industry – 52 people.
Under the “Own Business” grant program, Ukrainians can receive a microgrant from 50 thousand to 250 thousand UAH. Funds can be spent on purchasing or leasing equipment, purchasing raw materials and materials, renting premises. Both an existing entrepreneur and a person without experience in such activities can receive a microgrant. A mandatory condition for the provision of funds is the creation of 1-2 jobs, depending on the amount of the grant.
