Over the past year, banks have increased the number of ATMs and POS terminals. This is evidenced by NBU data, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

ATMs
According to the NBU, over the year the sector increased the number of ATMs by 0.86 thousand units, to 29.14 thousand. This result was ensured by state banks: their ATM network increased by 1.02 thousand devices, to 24.01 thousand, in including Privat – by 0.47 thousand, to 17.32 thousand.
Thus, the share of state banks in the market over the past year increased from 81.3% to 82.4%, although Privat decreased from 59.6% to 59.4%.
Private Ukrainian banks in 2023 increased their ATM network by 0.45 thousand to 2.13 thousand, while banks with foreign capital reduced it by 0 60 thousand – up to 3.00 thousand
POS terminals
The network of POS terminals has been growing for a year and a half. In the fourth quarter, the growth leaders were Privatbank and private banks (+16.8 thousand and +5.4 thousand, respectively). For the second quarter in a row, foreign banks have been expanding their network. Ukrposhta and NovaPay also expanded their network of POS terminals.
The network of POS terminals grew by 101 thousand units over the year. – up to 469.4 thousand. The largest increase was recorded in Privatbank – by 67.6 thousand units, up to 290.2 thousand, in other state banks – by 16.1 thousand units, up to 91.3 thousand units . and in private – by 14.0 thousand units, up to 33.3 thousand units. Banks with foreign capital, on the contrary, reduced the number of payment terminals by 1.1 thousand units. – up to 43.5 thousand
In particular, in the fourth quarter, banks added 32.8 thousand POS terminals, including Privat – 16.8 thousand, other state banks – 4.9 thousand. , private Ukrainian banks – 5.4 thousand and banks with foreign capital – 3.3 thousand.
Thus, Privatbank was able to increase its share in the POS terminal market from 60.4 to 61 at the end of the year .8%, while other state banks in total reduced it from 20.4 to 19.4%.
