During March, 86.4 thousand purchase and sale transactions of used passenger cars were registered on the domestic market of Ukraine, which is 7.3% higher than in March 2023, but 0.7% less compared to February 2024. This was reported by the Institute for Automotive Market Research.

What do Ukrainians choose
On the used car market, Volkswagen continues to lead the list of the most popular brands, with a share of 12.3% of the total number of transactions (10.6 thousand transactions).
Second place was taken by VAZ/Lada with 5.4 thousand transactions (6.2%), followed by Renault with 5 thousand transactions (5.8%). Skoda with a share of 5.5% and 4.8 thousand cars sold took fourth place, and BMW closed the top five with 4.4 thousand transactions (5.1%).
Which models are preferred< /h3>
Among specific models, the first place in March was taken by the Volkswagen Passat with 3.1 thousand transactions, which has long been the leader of the Ukrainian secondary car market.
The Skoda Octavia with 2.7 thousand transactions took second place, and the Volkswagen Golf with 2.5 thousand transactions took third place. Daewoo Lanos with 2 thousand transactions and Renault Megane with 1.5 thousand transactions occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Where the most cars are registered
The most active registrations of used cars from abroad were in the Lviv region (2.6 thousand first registrations), in Kyiv (2.4 thousand) and the Kiev region (1.7 thousand).
Also, the top five active regions in March included Vinnytsia (1.5 thousand) and Dnepropetrovsk (1.3 thousand) regions.
The fewest “freshly driven” cars were registered in Kherson region (30 pcs.), Donetsk (61 pcs.), Nikolaev (263 pcs.), Kirovograd (294 pcs.) and Chernihiv (316 pcs.) regions.
