Co-founder and ex-CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao took 50th place in the new ranking of billionaires from Forbes with a fortune of $33 billion, writes Forklog.

How Zhao’s fortune has changed
According to the publication, the amount of the entrepreneur’s wealth reached its maximum in 2022 — $65 billion. But then the figure fell to $10.5 billion.
Bloomberg, in its own billionaires index, credits Zhao with owning assets worth $45.1 billion. The figure over the year increased by $10.7 billion, according to the agency.
How many billionaires did Forbes count
Based on the results of 2023 Forbes counted 2,781 billionaires in the world. This was a record high in history, as was the total amount of their wealth – $14.2 trillion.
In terms of countries, the leader remains the United States, which is home to 813 holders of such conditions (total: $5.7 trillion). In second place is China (including Hong Kong) with indicators of 473 and $1.7 trillion, respectively.
The list also includes other representatives of the crypto industry. Co-founder and CEO of Coinbase Brian Armstrong was in 180th place with $11.2 billion.
The largest shareholders of the issuer of the USDT stablecoin – Tether – made their debut in the rating – in the person of Giancarlo Devasini ($9.2 billion), Paolo Ardoino ($3. 9 billion), Jean-Louis van der Velde ($3.9 billion) and Stuart Hogner ($2.5 billion).
In total, the publication counted 17 cryptocurrency-related entrepreneurs with a net worth of over a billion dollars. They include: Ripple co-founders Chris Larsen ($3.2 billion) and Jed McCaleb ($2.9 billion); Gemini founders Winklevoss brothers ($2.7 billion each); Mike Novogratz ($2.5 billion); Michael Saylor ($4.4 billion) and others.
The smallest amount of wealth among the industry representatives in the Forbes rating was determined by the co-founders of the infrastructure Web3 platform Alchemy Joe Lau and Nikhil Viswanathan – $1.5 billion each.
