The number of participants in the non-banking financial market in March decreased from 1060 (as of February 29, 2024) to 1056 (as of March 31, 2024), the number of banks remained unchanged – 63. This is reported by the NBU press service.< /p>

Two financial companies and two pawnshops were forcibly excluded from the register, while at the same time two credit unions were excluded at the initiative of the applicant. Also included in the register are two insurance brokers.
During March, six institutions – two financial companies, two pawn shops and two credit unions – had all their licenses voluntarily revoked (based on the applications they submitted). The National Bank agreed to narrow the scope of the license for the type of activity providing financial services to six more financial companies.
As of March 31, the following were operating in the non-banking market:
- 589 financial companies (in February there were 586), 86 non-life insurers (the number has not changed), 1 2 life insurers (the number has not changed), one insurer with a special status, 123 pawn shops (was 125), 127 credit unions (was 129), 5 lessors (was 10), 39 insurance brokers (was 37), 74 collection companies (the number has not changed).
In addition, 18 banking groups (the number has not changed) and 21 non-banking groups (the number has not changed) are recognized on the market.
There are 18 payment systems created by residents in the payment market, including state-owned ones (the number has not changed), and 15 international payment systems created by non-residents (the number has not changed).
In addition, there are operators of financial payment services on the market, including:
- 20 payment institutions (the number has not changed), 12 financial institutions entitled to provide payment services (the number has not changed), one bank is an issuer of electronic money (the number has not changed), one postal operator (the number has not changed).
Other entities operating in the payment market include 40 commercial agents (from 36) and 36 technology operators of payment services (from 35). Information about all payment market participants is contained here.
In March, the National Bank received 369 requests from market participants for registration and licensing actions. The number of requests from financial companies, pawnshops and lessors amounted to 190, banks – 37, credit unions and collectors – 36, payment service operators – 2, insurers – 104.
