The contractor received budget money for the construction of the metro in Vinohradar, but instead of carrying out the work, he put these funds on deposit. Thus, the company earned interest on UAH 139 million. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

“The Kiev City Prosecutor’s Office established that the commercial structure, contrary to the law, placed funds received from the capital’s budget for the construction of the metro from the Syrets station to the Vinogradar residential area in deposit accounts in the bank. Thus, she earned interest in the amount of more than 139 million hryvnia,” the message says.
In October 2021, the Kiev City Prosecutor's Office appealed to the Economic Court of the city of Kyiv with a claim in the interests of the state represented by the Kiev City Council with a demand to recover these funds from the contractor in favor of the territorial society of the capital represented by the Kyiv City Council.
Commercial Court Back in 2022, Kyiv fully satisfied the claim of the prosecutor's office for the recovery of 139 million UAH to the capital's budget.
A year later, the Northern Economic Court of Appeal upheld this decision. However, the Supreme Court sent the case for a new consideration.
Based on the results of the new consideration, by the decision of the Economic Court of the city of Kiev dated April 24, 2024, the prosecutor’s claim was fully satisfied and more than 139 million UAH were recovered from the contractor to the capital’s budget.< /p>
Who is the contractor
The contractor for the construction of the metro at Vinohradar was the company “Kyivmetrostroy”, which entered into an agreement with the KP “Kyiv Metro” back in 2018. She undertook to carry out construction work, namely the first stage of construction of a section of the Syretsko-Pecherskaya metro line from the Syrets station to the Vinogradar residential area from the electric depot in the Podolsk district of Kyiv.
