The new version of the Model 3 with a larger battery costs $42,490 in the US. After applying the federal electric vehicle tax credit of up to $7,500, the final price of the car could drop to $34,990.
Taking into account Tesla's stated savings on gasoline – $5 thousand over five years – the cost of a new Tesla sedan will hypothetically drop to less than $30 thousand.
Prices for the base Model 3, all-wheel drive version and Performance options have not changed.
Specifications
The new electric car has a range of 363 miles (584 km) and a top speed of 125 mph (201 km/h). It is capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
