261 people's deputies voted for the corresponding decision.

The purpose of the adoption of the legislative act is to establish a minimum, guaranteed level of the official salary of a police officer as the main component of the total amount of monetary allowance.

According to Ukrinform, the draft law proposes to amend Article 94 of the Law “On the National Police” and establish that the salary of police officers must provide sufficient material conditions for the proper performance of their official duties, taking into account the nature, intensity and danger of the work, ensure the selection of qualified personnel for the police, stimulate the achievement of high results and stimulate the achievement of high results.

It is assumed that the amount of a police officer's salary should take into account his position, special rank, length of service in the police, intensity and conditions of service, qualifications, availability of an academic degree and/or academic title.

The components of a police officer's salary should be:

official salary, monthly bonus for length of service, additional payments for a special rank, additional payments for work that provides access to state secrets, additional payments for a degree and/or academic title, and bonuses.

Official salary

The official salary of police officers may not be less than 10 times the subsistence minimum for able-bodied persons, except for cadets (students) of higher educational institutions with specific training conditions that train police officers.

As of 2025, the subsistence minimum is UAH 3,028. Thus, the official salary of a police officer should be at least UAH 30,280.

It is expected that the adoption of the document will contribute to the establishment of a fair and modern level of monetary compensation for police officers, increase the prestige of police service, ensure the selection of qualified personnel for the police, and stimulate the achievement of high results in official activities.

Let us recall

Earlier, Interior Minister Igor Klimenko complained that police salaries have not been indexed for two years. According to him, the average salary of a police officer in Ukraine is 34-36 thousand UAH.

At the same time, employees of the National Police are additionally paid 10,000 UAH for work during martial law, and in regions where military action continues, the additional payments amount to 30,000 UAH.
