On February 27, the Energy Community Secretariat received official notification from USAID about the termination of the grant agreement with the Ukraine Energy Support Fund for $75 million, the Energy Community reported.

The Energy Community Secretariat has acknowledged receipt of this message and is awaiting further clarification from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
It is noted that the termination of this grant will reduce the funds available for the purchase of necessary equipment for the energy sector of Ukraine.

Let us recall
An agreement between USAID and the Ukraine Energy Support Fund for $25 million was signed in 2023. USAID has pledged to provide an additional $50 million to the Fund in 2024.
In January 2025, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) officially confirmed the suspension of funding for all programs and projects in Ukraine for 90 days.
In March, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that Washington was officially closing 83% of USAID programs.
