The Group of Seven countries, comprising Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States, called on Russia to reciprocate by agreeing to a ceasefire on equal terms in a final draft statement seen by Reuters.

The project, endorsed by senior diplomats, still needs ministerial approval, G7 officials said.

They stressed that the ceasefire must be strictly observed and noted the need to establish reliable and credible security mechanisms to guarantee Ukraine's ability to deter and repel any repeated acts of aggression.

Let us recall that from March 12 to 14, the G7 foreign ministers gathered in the Canadian city of La Malbaie. Canada holds the presidency of the “Big Seven”.
